Irvine, California (April 2, 2009) – Airline Media Productions, LLC (AMP), part of the Post Modern Group, has been selected by US Airways as its content service provider effective with the June 2009 play cycle. The contract covers all aspects of US Airways' in-flight entertainment systems, including feature film programming, TV programming, audio and revenue generation, as well as technical services including media integration.
US Airways mainline routes are operated by a fleet of 348 mainly Airbus and Boeing aircraft. IFE hardware, in use on international and Hawaii routes only, currently includes the Rockwell Collins/Sony Passport AVOD system installed aboard its Airbus A330-300s, TEAC digital file servers and IMS hand-held players, as well as tape-based systems. In addition the airline will shortly be implementing Panasonic's eX2 system on five aircraft operating on its international routes. Since pulling IFE systems from 196 of its domestic aircraft in November last year, US Airways has been evaluating possible replacement systems for the domestic fleet.

Travel + Leisure magazine named US Airways as one of the top-three airlines for 2008 in on-time performance for the year (based on Department of Transportation data for Sept. 1, 2007 through Aug. 31, 2008). And for the tenth consecutive year, the airline received a Diamond Award for maintenance training excellence from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Charlotte, North Carolina hub maintenance facility.
