Irvine, California (March 5, 2008) – Post Modern Digital, LLC, is pleased to announce that it has completed an extensive upgrade of its DVD facility including Blu-ray Disc authoring, making it the first authoring house in Orange County to offer Blu-ray.
Post Modern Digital has equipped its Blu-ray production department with high-end encoding and authoring equipment. The CINEMA CRAFT® HD encoder is an innovative H.264/AVC compression tool. The CINEMA CRAFT® compression technology has become a Hollywood and world-wide standard providing the highest picture quality for DVD and Blu-ray. Sonic Scenarist® has long been the industry standard authoring system for creating highly featured productions. Offering maximum playback compatibility and complete control for both standard content and advanced interactivity, Sonic's Blu-ray Disc authoring tool delivers unrivaled power and world-class results.
Blu-ray Disc, which was recently acknowledged as winner of the latest video format war when Toshiba announced they would cease production of their rival HD-DVD player, is acclaimed as the best home video source ever. At six times the resolution of DVD and 5 times the storage capacity, a single-layer Blu-ray Disc will hold over four hours of content. A double layer Blu-ray Disc will hold up to nine hours of content. Blu-ray also offers the user features not available with standard DVD players, such as random access, search and playlist creation.
Troy Burlage, Vice President of Sales at Post Modern Digital, said, "Now that the format war has been decided, we anticipate a rapid transition to Blu-ray. With orders already in the pipeline we anticipate developing an unprecedented array of bonus features, full-motion menus and other features that users are going to be excited about."
